Celebrations Begin At BJP's Arunachal Office As Party Crosses Halfway Mark
The BJP had won 10 of the 60 assembly seats unopposed before voting was even conducted. This included Chief Minister Pema Khandu's Mukto seat in Tawang district.
Arunachal Pradesh Election Result 2024: Even as counting remains underway in Arunachal Pradesh for the assembly elections, celebrations started at the Bharatiya Janta Party office in Itanagar after the party crossed the halfway mark. The majority mark in the 60-member assembly is 31 seats.The ruling BJP has won 17 seats so far and is leading on 29.
The celebrations outside the party office on Sunday morning included folk musicians and dancers.

BJP party workers and supporters also burst crackers in celebrations outside the party office as theBJP is set to return to power.

Meanwhile, the National People's Party is leading on 6 seats.
The BJP had won 10 of the 60 assembly seats unopposed before voting was even conducted. This included Chief Minister Pema Khandu's Mukto seat in Tawang district.
Counting began Sunday for 50 assembly seats in the Himalayan state with a massive security cover in place.
The counting commenced in 24 district headquarters at 6 am amid heavy rains across the state, and the final result is expected to be out soon, Chief Election Officer Pawan Kumar Sain said.
The counting process is being managed by over 2,000 officials, as per a PTI report.
Counting for the state's two Lok Sabha seats will take place on Tuesday, along with the rest of the country.
