BJP Will Increase SC, ST, OBC Quota, End ‘Muslim Quota’: Amit Shah In Telangana

Launching an attack on the Opposition, Amit Shah sought to refute their allegations that PM Narendra Modi would end reservations if he returned to office.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public rally in Telangana’s Bhongir on Thursday, where he said the BJP will increase the reservations for SCs, STs, and OBCs, if it returns to power in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.  The BJP, he added, will “end Muslim reservation” to implement this.

Launching an attack on the Opposition, Shah sought to refute their allegations that PM Modi would end reservations. He said, “They say that if PM Modi becomes Prime Minister, he will end the reservations. PM Modi has been leading this country unanimously for the last 10 years, but he did not end reservation.”

‘Congress Robbed SC, ST & OBC Of Reservations’

Shah said the Congress, meanwhile, had robbed the SC, ST and OBC quota and given 4% reservation to Muslims.

Training his guns at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he added, “You should look at your track record. Your grandmother imposed Emergency at one go. Your father introduced triple talaq at one go, and now your party has stolen OBC reservations at one go.”

Shah also attacked Rahul Gandhi over his farm loan waiver promise, saying he makes “false promises” and “does not fulfil” them.

‘Double-digit Score In Telangana’

The home minister said Telangana, which sends 17 MPs to the Lok Sabha, will give the BJP a double-digit tally this election.

“In 2019, the public of Telangana gave us 4 seats. This time, we will win more than 10 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. This double-digit score in Telangana will make PM Modi cross 400 seats... Congress wants to contest elections by telling lies.”

Praising PM Modi, he said he had dealt a severe blow to terrorism. “This is a country that needs strong leadership. And there is only one [strong leader], Narendra Modi.

Telangana votes for the Lok Sabha elections on May 13.
