ABP-CVoter Snap Poll: With AAP, SP Naming Candidates For State Elections, Does I.N.D.I.A Have A Clear Poll Strategy?

ABP News in association with CVoter conducted a snap poll to know what the voters think about the AAP and the SP fighting the polls without I.N.D.I.A. backing and what that coveys about the bloc's strategy.

With the imminent assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, and Telangana, political parties are gearing up for the upcoming electoral battles. In this context, the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), two constituents of the opposition alliance the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A.), have announced a few of their candidates and apparently will not fight the polls together, raising questions about the strategy of the Opposition bloc.

ABP News in association with CVoter conducted a snap poll to know what the voters think about the AAP and the SP fighting the polls without I.N.D.I.A. backing.

According to the snap poll, overall 32.9% of respondents agreed that I.N.D.I.A.'s strategy remains undefined in the eyes of the public. Among them, a notable 25.7% of opposition supporters and 43.7% of ruling NDA (National Democratic Alliance) supporters feel that I.N.D.I.A. has not yet formulated a clear strategy.

On the contrary, more respondents (42.1%) said that I.N.D.I.A.'s approach to contesting assembly polls separately and uniting for Lok Sabha elections was clear. A substantial 49.2% of opposition supporters and 31.5% of NDA supporters acknowledged this strategy.

Nevertheless, a significant proportion of the respondents, accounting for 25.0%, either express uncertainty about I.N.D.I.A.'s strategy or refrain from offering an opinion. This contingent includes 25.1% of opposition supporters and 24.8% of NDA supporters.

AAP Announced Candidates For Chhattisgarh & MP, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav Expresses Desire To Tie Up With Congress

As the electoral landscape takes shape, political parties are making their moves. The AAP has already released its initial list of 10 candidates for the Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls scheduled for the year-end. Among these candidates are prominent figures such as the state unit chief Komal Hupendi and farmers' leader Tejram Vidrohi in Chhattisgarh.

The Samajwadi Party (SP) has also joined the fray, recently announcing the names of two additional candidates for the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls, which brought the total number of SP candidates for the upcoming polls to six.

Although questions persist about the possibility of the SP forming an alliance with the Congress, as part of the opposition bloc, SP state president Ramayan Singh Patel recently dismissed such a prospect for the Madhya Pradesh assembly polls.

"The decision about the alliance in any state is taken by the party's national leadership, but as of now we don't see any possibility of such an alliance in Madhya Pradesh for the upcoming assembly polls. But, our national president will take a decision in this regard," Patel told PTI.

However, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said that his party and Congress should fight the Madhya Pradesh election together to defeat the BJP.

As the election campaigns unfold, the evolving strategies of I.N.D.I.A. and its member parties will undoubtedly shape the political landscape in these crucial states.
