Madhya Pradesh Election 2023: SP And Congress Should Fight Together To Defeat BJP, Says Akhilesh Yadav

Akhilesh Yadav said on Sunday that the SP and Congress should fight the Madhya Pradesh elections together to defeat the BJP.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Sunday that the SP and Congress should fight the Madhya Pradesh elections together to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party. He also took a swipe at the BJP and said that the saffron party is “scared” and many of its leaders are fighting the elections to become the Chief Minister.

Responding to a query on his party's alliance for MP Assembly elections, Akhilesh Yadav said, "The Samajwadi Party and Congress should fight together to defeat the BJP." He also said, “The Chief Minister’s ticket has not been announced yet, and many BJP leaders are fighting elections to become Chief Minister. Just imagine how scared the BJP is".

Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav lashed out at the MP government and criticised the condition of women in the state. In an address to the media, the SP Chief said that "exploitation of women, injustice to girls, discrimination with the tribes, and dalit women have become major concerns in the state of Madhya Pradesh," as quoted by ANI. He also said that if SP gets a chance, it will give Rs 6,000 per month to women in Madhya Pradesh.

Akhilesh Yadav further said that his next step would be to explain the caste census to the people. He also expressed pleasure over Congress' support for the caste census. "I am glad that Congress also came in the path of PDA and started supporting the caste census; what could be a bigger success than this", he added.

Speaking at a rally in Rewa on Wednesday, the SP chief announced that his party would give 20 percent of tickets to women in the assembly election. “We want to tell the women that if any women or any women office-bearers of the organisation who have worked in the field, then the Samajwadi Party will give them a chance by giving tickets to 20 percent to women,” Yadav said, as quoted by ANI.

"BJP is promoting Mahila Shakti Vandan women's reservation. I want to ask the BJP what percentage of women were given tickets for the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. Why is the BJP not giving tickets to 33 percent of women in the assembly elections of Madhya Pradesh and other states?" he added.
