Indore: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Sumitra Mahajan (Tai) from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 466901 votes. The polling / voting in Indore constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 7 on 19 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Shankar Lalwani and Congress Party#s Pankaj Sanghvi

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 27 out of the 29 parliamentary seat with 54 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just 2 seats with a 34.9 percent vote share.

Out of the 22 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Indore, 20 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Sumitra Mahajan (Tai) of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Satyanarayan Patel by a margin of 466901 votes.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BJP candidate Sumitra Mahajan attained 474167 votes and INC's Mahesh Joshi bagged 342852 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 49852 votes.
