UPSC IFS Exam 2019: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) commenced the registration process for Indian Forest Services (Preliminary) Examination 2019, yesterday, on its official website – upsc.gov.in. The IFS (P) Examination 2019 will be held via UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2019, which is scheduled to be organized on 2nd June 2019, this year. Candidates interested in exploring a splendid career as an IFS Officer can go through the exam scheme given below and prepare well for the upcoming examination. UPSC IFS 2019 Exam Scheme: A) Preliminary Examination (200+200 marks) The UPSC IFS Preliminary Examination 2019 will comprise of two papers carrying 200 marks each. Both the papers will comprise of Multiple Choice Questions set in Hindi and English. UPSC will announce the cut-off for General Studies Paper-I in due course of time on the basis of number of vacancies and number of candidates competing for the same. The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper and candidates will need to secure minimum 33% marks to qualify the same. Negative Marking of (-1/3) mark is applicable for every wrong answer, while there’s no negative marking for un-attempted questions. UPSC IFS 2019 Notification B) Main Examination 1. The UPSC IFS Main Examination 2019 will comprise of descriptive (essay) type questions set in four papers as given below: Paper-I – General English – 300 Marks Paper-II – General Knowledge – 300 Marks Papers III, IV, V, VI – Two Papers each from any Two Subjects from the list given in the official advertisement – 800 Marks (200 + 200 + 200 + 200 Marks) Candidates will be adjudged on their orderly, effective and exact expression combined with due economy of words. The hand written answers have to be legible and neatly written, otherwise, deduction can be made from the total marks scored by the candidate. 2. Interview for Personality Test – 300 Marks The Personality Test of the Indian Forest Service Examination 2019 will aim to assess the “intellectual curiosity, critical powers of observation and assimilation, balance of judgment and alertness of mind, initiative, tact, capacity for leadership; the ability for social cohesion, mental and physical energy and powers of practical application; integrity of character; and other qualities such as topographical sense, love for out-door life and the desire to explore unknown and out of way places.” All the Best!
