UGC NET 2020 Admit Card: 2 Days To Go And Still No Sight Of Hall Tickets; Students Worry About Exam Centre Location, And Travel Issues
UGC NET Admit Card Release Update: The admit cards for NTA UGC NET exams has still not been released even though there are just two more days to go for the exam. Students are now worried about the location of the exam centres and how they will travel long distances.
UGC NET 2020: With just 2 days to go for the UGC NET 2020 exams the National Testing Agency (NTA) has yet to release the admit cards for the exam. After a considerable delay due to the pandemic the exams which were supposed to take place in June were postponed to September 16. In its official notification, the NTA had said that the hall tickets will be released 15 days ahead of the date of exam commencement but have still not given any confirmed dates. According to some media reports, the admit cards may be released today.
With no admit cards, student anxiety has increased and some are wondering if the exams will get postponed.

Candidates concerned about transport facilities
Candidates are worried that releasing admit cards so close to the date of the exam leaves them with no time to figure out travel plans. 24-year-old Aakansha Aditi who has registered for the exam feels that with the extensive delay in admit card the exams should ideally be cancelled.
“The exams should ideally be cancelled but I doubt it will be. My friends have also told me to be prepared for anything. It's a very confusing state."
The candidates are also worried that issuing admit cards in the last moment could be a problem if the exam centres are located far from their current area of residence.
"This time even the exam dates were announced suddenly. The problem is that these are not normal circumstances. Because of Covid 19 situation, it is really necessary to know the location beforehand. Not everyone has a car so the information should have been given well in time," said Aditi
Asked if she will be able to take the exams if the admit cards are released today or tomorrow, she said, "it all depends on the centre. I am currently staying in my home in Dhanbad and if the centre is nearby I may be able to attend, but if it is Ranchi or some other place then it will not be possible. It is also clashing with end semester submissions."
Another UGC NET candidate from Delhi who did not want to be named is also concerned about travelling under short notice.
"Issuing admit card at the last moment is a bit problematic. Most of these centres are located in far off areas and we have to head out to the centre early morning. Although the metro has started operations, I am not sure of the facility that will be available near the exam centre," said the candidate.
Even in social media, many students are asking for an update of the exams.

It is to be noted that in the case of in ICAR UG exam, the NTA had announced a change in exam dates just three days before the exam. The exam has been postponed for September 16 to 22 which clashes with the UGC Net schedule. Social media post about UGC NET postponement Meanwhile, in social media an image of an email from NTA is circulating which says that the testing agency will be announcing new dates for the exam soon. But there is such official notification from the NTA and the authenticity of the social media post remains suspect. Most candidates are sharing an image posted by the Twitter user Licypriya Kangujam.@DG_NTA sir what is the status of admit cards for the UGC-NET exam scheduled to be held from 16/09/20 Students are perplexed due to the apathy shown by NTA,these exams are not surprise class tests of a school, hope this thing dawns on u people soon.@DrRPNishank
