Rajasthan Teachers To Get Training In Prestigious Institutions Under ‘TIE’ Programme

The Rajasthan government will be spending Rs 23.50 crore for the research and training of teachers under the TIE programme.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has given his green nod to the proposal for the 'Teacher Interface for Excellence' (TIE) programme. Under the programme, as much as 500 teachers from government-run colleges and polytechnic colleges in Rajasthan will now be able to take training in prestigious colleges and universities across the country and abroad, an official statement was reported as saying by news agency PTI. Under the training, the shortlisted teachers will gain exposure to modern innovations and technologies to further assist the teaching and learning processes for children.

The Rajasthan government has earmarked 23.50 crore for the programme to facilitate research and training for the teachers. The state government will soon be releasing the guidelines for the programme, the release added.

Under the TIE programme, teachers will be able to undergo training in several top ranked institutions overseas and in the country ranked between 1 to 100 in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) rankings and NIRF rankings respectively. “Teachers will be able to get acquainted and trained with excellent educational policies and programmes. This will encourage quality teaching and research in higher education in the state," news agency PTI quoted the official statement as saying.

The TIE programme aims at uplifting the education and research quality in higher education institutions across Rajasthan, enhancing their reflective performance in the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) grading system. The training programmes would range between 1 to 6 months, the government was further reported as saying.

In a similar move, earlier in February 2023, the Punjab government sent 36 government school teachers to Singapore for training. The AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also proposed sending Delhi school teachers to Finland for training, earlier this year. However, the proposal was caught in a tussle between the Lieutenant Governor (LG) and the Delhi Government, with the latter alleging the LG of rejecting the proposal. The proposal was eventually approved by the Delhi LG in March.
