QS Asia University Rankings 2024 Released: IIT Bombay Secures Top Spot Among Indian Institutions

In the QS Asia University Rankings 2024, India is the highest represented country in the rankings with 148 Indian Universities making it to the rankings.

The QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) Asia University Rankings 2024 have been released. In the rankings released today, Peking University has emerged as the best institution in Asia, by bagging the first spot in the rankings. The University of Hong Kong, and the National University of Singapore follow Peking at the second and third ranks, respectively. Among Indian universities, IIT Bombay has secured the top rank, and is placed at the 40th rank in the QS Asia University Rankings 2024. Even in last year’s rankings, IIT Bombay was placed at the 40th spot. 

The QS Asia University Rankings features a total of 856 universities and colleges from 25 different countries. This is the highest number of educational institutions featured in the QS Asia University Rankings by far, where 148 institutes have been ranked for the first time. Countries like Myanmar, Cambodia, and Nepal have also made their appearance in the rankings for the first time. In the QS Asia University Rankings 2024 though, India has the highest representation now with 148 India Universities being ranked in the rankings. India is followed by China which has 133 institutions featured in the rankings, and Japan with 96 Universities. 

Among the Indian Universities ranked in the QS Asia University Rankings 2024, IIT Bombay is followed by IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IISc Bangalore, and IIT Kharagpur. While IIT Delhi is ranked at the 46th spot in the rankings, IIT Madras sits at the 53rd place. The IISc Bangalore and IIT Kharagpur have managed to secure the 58th and the 59th place respectively.
