NEET UG: Not Every Student Can Move Court; NTA Should Take Complaints And Conduct Re-Exam, Says NV Sir

NEET UG Result 2024: NTA should open a window to invite complaints, verify them and then conduct Re-NEET, NV Sir said.

The Supreme Court has issued notices to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Centre regarding several petitions that raise concerns about paper leaks and seek a CBI investigation into the alleged instances of paper leaks during the NEET-UG 2024 exam held on May 5. A vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta has asked the NTA to respond within two weeks. The cases have been tagged with earlier petitions on similar issues, scheduled for hearing on July 8. The Court also issued a notice on the NTA's transfer petition to bring a related High Court case to the Supreme Court.

On the Supreme Court hearing on the NEET exam issue, Petitioner Nitin Vijay  (NV Sir) said, "We have two main concerns - paper leak and grace marks. Now that NTA has accepted that grace marks were awarded to some students, then why is the chance of re-test given only to those students who filed writ petition in the High court not to those who filed complaints only with local authorities?"

"How can an aspirant from a village file a petition in court? NTA should open a window to invite complaints, verify them and then conduct Re-NEET. Ranks have inflated due to cheating and paper leak. The future of 24 lakh students is at stake. Shouldn't every aspirant get a fair chance?," NV Sir added.
