NEET UG: SC Asks NTA To Respond To Paper Leak Claims In 2 Weeks; Hearing On All Petitions On July 8

NEET UG Results: The Supreme Court has directed NTA to respond within two weeks to a plea requesting a CBI investigation into the alleged paper leak.

The Supreme Court has issued a notice on a transfer petition filed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The petition seeks to transfer a case from the Delhi High Court alleging paper leak and irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam to the Supreme Court. A vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta consolidated NTA's transfer petition with other petitions related to the paper leak in NEET-UG 2024, all scheduled for hearing on July 8.

Advocate Vardhaman Kaushik, representing the NTA, informed that three additional transfer petitions have been filed concerning petitions in various High Courts regarding the issue of grace marks. He stated that these transfer petitions are being withdrawn in light of the NTA's decision to revoke the grace marks, as recorded in the Supreme Court's recent order. Kaushik further mentioned that the High Courts will be duly informed about the Supreme Court's directive regarding the grace marks issue.

Additionally, the Supreme Court has directed NTA to respond within two weeks to a plea requesting a CBI investigation into the alleged paper leak. This petition was filed by Hitesh Singh Kashyap. According to the plea, students at the Jay Jalaram Center in Godhra, Gujarat, allegedly paid bribes ranging from 10 to 10 lakh rupees to secure center selection, involving students from states such as Karnataka, Odisha, and Jharkhand. Following complaints, authorities arrested five individuals, including teachers on duty at the Jay Jalaram Center. Details of all 26 students involved were obtained from the arrested teacher.
