NEET PG Examination Fee Reduced By Rs 750 For All Categories

NBEMS has announced a reduction of Rs 750 in the NEET PG examination fee for all candidates.

New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced a reduction of Rs 750 in the NEET PG examination fee for all candidates, according to an official statement. This decision aims to benefit the large number of candidates preparing for the upcoming examinations. Starting from January 1, 2024, any candidate submitting their application form for the forthcoming examination will be subject to a reduced fee.

The revised fee now stands below the application fee charged in 2013. Previously, in 2013, the application fee for the general and OBC category was Rs 3,750, which was subsequently increased to Rs 4,250 in 2021. As of January 1, 2024, this fee has been reduced to Rs 3,500.

Similarly, in 2013, the application fee for SC, ST, and PWD candidates was Rs 2,750, which was later increased to Rs 3,250 in 2021. However, the fee has now been reduced to Rs 2,500.

About NEET Exam

The National Eligibility Entrance Test (Postgraduate) or NEET PG serves as a pivotal qualifying and ranking examination in India. It caters to students aspiring to pursue various postgraduate medical programs such as Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Diplomate of National Board (DNB) and Doctorate of National Board (a direct 6-year course in specialties like Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Pediatric Surgery), along with diploma courses. These programs are offered by both government and private medical colleges across the country.

NEET (PG) replaced the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) and is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The process of counseling and seat allotment is overseen by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). This examination plays a crucial role in shaping the academic and professional trajectories of aspiring medical professionals in India.
