The NTA is yet to release safety guidelines for the exams. For the NEET exam that took place on September 13, the following steps were taken to ensure protection from Covid-19
  • Body temperature of the candidates was checked at the entry of the Registration Room using a thermal gun. If the temperature was (< 37.4°C/99.4°F), frisking by security personnel was allowed. But if the temperature was (> 37.4°C/99.4°F), the candidates were taken to Isolation Room. Frisking and document verification was done after a period of 15-20 minutes, to allow body temperature to become normal. In case it did not then those candidates had to take the examination alone in a separate room.
  • Candidates had to display Admit card, Valid Govt. ID proof, PwD certificate(if PwD candidate), Scribe undertaking (if applicable in proforma given in Information Bulletin) to Invigilator on duty across the table.
  • After due verification, Invigilator will direct candidates to the examination room as per roll number.
  • The invigilator on duty outside the Registration Room had to ensure that students enter in batches of 10 (first) and then 5 when the first 5 leave.
  • Candidates were also supposed to wear light-colored and half sleeved weather-appropriate loose clothes. Shoes are not allowed and candidates must wear open and flat sandals or slippers to the examination. Jewellery is not advisable and only candidates required to wear certain jewellery for religious reasons may be permitted. Though headscarves and turbans are allowed, they are subject to frisking. Watches, both analog or digital are not permitted.
  • Candidates were also allowed to bring the following items- Mask on the face, gloves on hand, personal transparent water bottle, personal small hand sanitizer (50 ml), exam related documents as instructed (Admit Card, ID card, etc). No other items were to be permitted inside the examination room/hall.
