Mumbai University First Merit List Released On mu.ac.in; All About Courses, Dates, Admission Process & More

According to the university, the students who match the cut-off can get their documents verified and pay their fees from the next day onward.

Mumbai: The Mumbai University on Thursday (August 6) released the much-awaited first merit list for admissions to various colleges for undergraduate programmes. The students who had applied for admission to various colleges can check the list through the website- mu.ac.in. ALSO READ | Why No Fee Exemption In Engineering, Medical Colleges: Guj HC The courses for which Mumbai University Merit List 2020 is released today include: F.Y.B.A, F.Y.B.S.W, F.Y.BCom. F.Y.BSc, F.Y.B.M.M, F.Y.B.A.M.A, F.Y.B.M.S, F.Y.B.Voc, F.Y.B.Library Science and F.Y.B.P.A. In order to check the merit list, candidates must visit the official website - mu.ac.in. After visiting the website, click on the merit list following which a PDF file will appear on the screen. It is advised to download the file and take a print out of it for further reference. According to the university, the students who match the cut-off can get their documents verified and pay their fees from the next day onward. Popular Mumbai University colleges that have released Merit List 2020-21 As per reports, at total of 743 colleges that are affiliated with the Mumbai University are expected to release their merit list for various courses for academic year 2020-21. The first merit list for academic year 2020-21 has been released by Mithibai College, St Andrew's College, St Xavier's College, Wilson College, DG Ruparel College, KC College, HR College of Commerce & Economics, St. John’s College, Jai Hind College etc. Going from the released list, Arts courses has seen a rise in cut-offs across the colleges. Factors that decide Merit List 2020-21 The 1st Merit List 2020-21 released by the Mumbai University for various under-graduate courses are basically the minimum marks required by the student to seek admission to the course in the respective college. Mumbai University Merit List 2020 depends on a variety of factors which include:
  • Availability of course-wise seats in the respective college
  • Applications received for the course
  • Reservation rules
  • Tie-breaking policy
Students have to complete the online registration and the form is available on the official website mum.digitaluniversity.ac. In case of any problem, while registering, it is appealed to contact the helpline number 020-66834821. Pre-admission online registration is mandatory for subsidized and non-subsidized courses such as Music, BPA (Music), BPA (Dance) FY.B.Sc (Bioanalytic Science- Five Year Integrated Course). Colleges in areas like Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Palghar districts which were considered to face difficulties with the online system for the admission process were given the option of an offline admission process with strict social distancing and other COVID-19 safety protocols.
