Hilarious Coincidence! UPSC Candidate Named Rahul Modi Cracks Civil Services Exam; Secures Rank 420

Given his rank, Rahul Modi is likely to make it to the Central Services Group as the IAS, IPS, and IFS posts are given to candidates with higher ranks.

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced results for the civil services examination 2019 on Tuesday afternoon on the official website of UPSC - upsc.gov.in. Pradeep Singh topped the IAS 2019, Jatin Kishiore obtained all India rank 2 while Pratibha Verma secured third position. ALSO READ | My Father Kept Motivating Me Says Pradeep Singh UPSC Topper; Know How He Made It To The Top In a bizarre coincidence, a student named Rahul Modi who appeared for the UPSC Exam, secured Rank 420, as per the results declared on Tuesday. As soon as the news broke out, the social media was taken by a storm as the name is a combination of that of the two biggest rivals in Indian politics - Rahul Gandhi from Congress and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. What is more eye catching is the rank '420'. If read in Hindi language, it is said as 'chaar sau bees' which is often referred as trickster. The selected candidates have been recommended for appointment to: (i) Indian Administrative Service (IAS); (ii) Indian Foreign Service (IFS); (iii) Indian Police Service (IPS); and (iv) Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ Given his rank, Rahul Modi is likely to make it to the Central Services Group as the IAS, IPS, and IFS posts are given to candidates with higher ranks. She also holds the first rank among female candidates. Other candidates who cracked the UPSC exams include 23-year-old Nadia Beigh, from  Kupwara who is an Economics (Honours) graduate from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. She has become the youngest IAS officer in India. Result will also be available on the U.P.S.C. website i.e. http//www.upsc.gov.in. Marks will be available on the website within 15 days from the date of declaration of Result. The list has been released on the basis of the written examination and personality test of the Civil services examination 2019. As many as 829 candidates have been recommended for appointment.
