Maharashtra Schools To Conduct Oral Exams For Failed Students Of Class 9 And Class 11

Those who clear the oral examination should be admitted to Classes 10 and 12 for the academic year 2020-21, authorities said.

In view of Coronavirus pandemic, the Maharashtra government has decided give another chance to the students who failed in final exams in class 9 and class 11 this year. For the same, the state government has asked all the schools to conduct oral exams for classes 9 and 11. ALSO READ | AP POLYCET Application Deadline Extended Till July 27; Know Steps To Submit Online Form According to a government resolution issued earlier this week, it was observed that a re-evaluation for the student of classes 9 and 11 will not be possible at the time when the number of COVID-19 cases are rising on daily basis in the state. This is why it was decided that an oral examination be conducted for the student who could not clear the exams. School Education Minsiter Varsha Gaikwad took to the Twitter to announce the development. Gaikwad said: Considering the COVID-19 situation in state, schools must conduct an oral re-examination by calling students, who failed in Class 9 and Class 11, to their premises or through video conferencing by 7 August 2020. Students who manage to clear the oral re-examination can be promoted to the next class for the academic year 2020-21. The state government directed that the oral exam should be held by either calling the students to the school premises and conducting exam face - to - face, or via video conferencing. Those who clear the oral examination should be admitted to Classes 10 and 12 for the academic year 2020-21, authorities said. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is likely to release the class 10 board exam results soon. Varsha Gaikwad had earlier said that the results of class 10 would be available before July 31. Although the Board has yet to confirm the date for the results, it can be expected by next week.
