New Delhi: Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday announced that the school curriculum in Maharastra will include Agriculture and Agronomy. In a series of tweets, he said that the study of agriculture will help to facilitate the research field.
Aditya Thackeray on its official Twitter handle writes,’ The school curriculum in Maharashtra will now include Agriculture and Agronomy. A big thank you to @VarshaEGaikwad ji & @dadajibhuse ji for this incredible decision, laying the foundation for a transformation in the way the younger generation perceives farming."
He further added that these studied in schools will create awareness and sensitivity towards the farmer’s issues in the country. ‘India is an agrarian nation, and to formally incorporate the study of agriculture in school, will give a massive impetus and help facilitate creative innovation and research in the field," he further adds.
He also mentioned that these studies will create a sensitive environment for the students regarding the agrarian crisis and thus will enable them to find possible solutions. ‘With the early introduction at the school level, this curriculum will create sensitivity and awareness regarding the farmer issues and urge students to find sustainable solutions for the challenges ‘.
