Karnataka Law University Exam Question Paper Leaks On Social Media, 1 Person Arrested
The incident came to light after Vishwanatha K N, a vigilance squad member overseeing Karnataka State Law University examinations, lodged a formal complaint with Bengaluru cybercrime police on Jan 30.

A question paper for the ongoing law examinations conducted by Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) was leaked on social media, prompting a probe by cybercrime police. Following an investigation, Bengaluru police have arrested one individual in connection with the alleged leak.
The incident came to light after Vishwanatha K N, a vigilance squad member overseeing KSLU examinations, lodged a formal complaint with the Bengaluru cybercrime police on January 30, reported Deccan Herald. The complaint was filed after the Contract-1 exam paper, scheduled for January 23, surfaced online before the test was conducted across Karnataka.
The FIR, another squad member, Ravindra Rajpoot, first identified the leaked questions and forwarded them to Vishwanatha for verification, as per a report on The Indian Express. Upon cross-checking, it was confirmed that the leaked content matched the actual exam paper, raising serious concerns about the security of the examination process.
The authorities are continuing their probe to determine the full extent of the leak and identify other individuals who may be involved. The arrest marks a significant step in the investigation, as officials work to ensure the integrity of future KSLU examinations.
The incident comes just as the crime branch has taken two teachers into custody in connection with the leak of the Class 10 Christmas exam question paper in Kerala, reported Kerala Kaumudi. Jishnu from Puthiyangadi, Kozhikode, and Fahadh from Malappuram, both teachers at the private tuition center M S Solutions, were detained.
In Hyderabad, the Education Department has introduced strict security measures to prevent SSC Public Exam question paper leaks, including unique secret security codes on papers, as per a report on Telangana Today. If the question paper is photographed or leaked, it could likely be traced using the codes. This follows last year’s controversy, which led to the suspension of invigilators and center superintendents.
