JMI Reopening: JMI To Reopen For PhD Students & Final Year Students From November
Jamia has announced the opening of the campus for Ph.D. students. And also, final year students can attend the practical classes and clinical practice from November.
New Delhi: Schools, colleges and universities are now reopening in view of the decline in Corona infection cases. On the same line, Jamia Millia Islamia University announced the reopening of the campus for PhD students.
According to an order issued by Jamia Millia Islamia University, the campus will be opened for PhD students who are scheduled to submit their thesis by the end of this year. Also final year students can attend the practical classes and clinical practice from November.
At the same time, the order said that the university advised all students, teachers, administrative and support staff to get vaccinated at the earliest and strictly follow the Covid-19 guidelines.
UG, PG, Diploma Program Classes Will Continue Online
The order also stated that classes and examinations for all undergraduate (UG), post graduate (PG), and diploma programs will continue to be conducted through online mode till next order. It also says that hostel facilities will remain suspended till the next order.
"The university campus will be opened for those PhD scholars who are scheduled to submit their thesis on or before December 31, 2021. Last Year/Semester students can attend the clinical and practical classes offline from the month of November 2021," according to the order.
The order also stated that PhD and final year semester students will be required to report their latest negative RT-PCR certificate. The department library facility will be opened only after the vaccination certificate is submitted.
It is said in order, "Dean/Head of Department/Director please ensure timely conduct of teaching and evaluation work by the concerned faculty members."
Earlier this week several student groups had appealed to Jamia Millia Islamia to reopen its campus in view of the better Covid-19 situation in Delhi
After a significant improvement in the status of Covid-19 in the capital, Delhi government had allowed schools, colleges and coaching institutes from class 9 to 12 to reopen from September 1.
