Jharkhand Board Exam 2021: JAC Postpones Class 10, 12 Exams Due To Increasing COVID Cases; Final Call In June
The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Tuesday announced to postpone the examinations of Class 10th and 12th. A meeting will be held on June 1 to review the situation, and further decision will be taken according to the situation.
After the Education Ministry cancelled Class 10 board exams and postponed class 12 exams, several others states followed the suit. While Kerala and Karnataka are firm on their decision to conduct board exams, states like Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have decided to review the situation for class 12 board exams. The latest to join on the lines of CBSE is Jharkhand.
The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Tuesday announced to postpone the examinations of Class 10th and 12th. In an official statement, JAC said "Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, Jharkhand Academic Council postpones examinations of Class 10th and 12th."

A meeting will be held on June 1 to review the situation, and further decision will be taken according to the situation, JAC added.
The state board yesterday announced to postpone practical exams due to worsening Covid-19 situation in the state. The practical exams started on April 6, but postponed midway.
"All the practical examinations of Class 10 and 12 of the year 2021 are postponed with immediate effect. Further information in this regard will be published later, "JAC said in the notification released on its official website.
The JAC Classes 10 and 12 board examinations were supposed to commence from May 4 till May 21. Earlier, the exams were scheduled to be conducted from March 9 and continue till March 26, 2021, but the board revised the examination dates owing to the rising COVID-19 cases.
In view of the academic pressure increased due to the closure of schools amid Coronavirus pandemic, the state board had also reduced the syllabus for the JAC board exams 2021 by 40 percent for the students of classes 10 and 12.
