JEE Main Exam 2021 Dates Announced! Exam To Be Conducted In 4 Phases, First Session From Feb 23

Education Minister said that the JEE Main 2021 examination will be will be held in multiple shifts from next year — February, March, April and May.

New Delhi: The schedule of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021 has been announced by Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Wednesday evening. As per the announcement, entrance test for admission in premier IITs, NITs will be held from February 23 to 26. While making the announcement, Education Minister said that the JEE Main 2021 examination will be will be held in multiple shifts from next year — February, March, April and May. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal took to Twitter and wrote: "Thank you all for sharing your constructive suggestions regarding JEE (Main) exams. We have got your suggestions examined. I will be announcing the schedule, number of times the exam will be held at 6 PM today. Stay tuned." Change in JEE MAIN 2021 exam pattern In the JEE MAIN 2021 examination, candidates will be allowed to attempt all four times if they wish, with the best score being used. Pokhariyal said that pattern of the exam has also been changed to accommodate COVID-19-driven changes to the syllabus. JEE MAIN 2021 to be held in 13 languages As per the minister, JEE MAIN 2021 will be held in 13 languages from next year. These include English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Odia and Malayalam. While exams in Hindi, English and Urdu will be held across the country, other regional language papers will be held in the respective states. No negative marking Keeping in mind the adverse situation, Education Minister has decided that there would be no negative marking in 15 alternative questions. As per the new rule, candidates will have to attempt 75 questions out of 90 – or 25 out of 30 questions in each section of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. However, there will be no negative marking in the 15 optional questions and best of four scores will be considered. The announcement by Education Minister comes after the National Testing Agency (NTA) removed the notification for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021, hours after it released it. Reports claim that the application process will begin on Tuesday and that the last date to fill the form is January 15. Reports also said that admission to engineering courses will be undertaken in four sessions.
