JEE Main 2019: Date of exams announced; Check Schedule, Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme, Cut off

JEE Main 2019: This is the first time the exam will be conducted twice a year and completely in online mode.

JEE Main 2019: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Main for admission to engineering colleges across the country will be held on January 31 and April 30 next year. This is the first time the exam will be conducted twice a year and completely in online mode. The newly formed National Testing Agency announced the exam schedule on Tuesday. The ministry had earlier decided that the examinations will be conducted twice a year. For aspirants wishing to apply for the JEE Main (January 2019) the procedure kicks starts in the months of September 2018. And for JEE Main (April), the application process commences from the second week of February 2019. JEE Main 2019 Result will be declared soon after the NTA is done away with conducting the JEE Main 2019 across its various test centers. Important dates

JEE Main-I • Online submission of application to start from September 1 • Online submission of application process end date - September 30, 2018 • Admit cards release date - December 17, 2018 • Exam Date (CBT) - January 6 and 20, 2019 (8 different sitings and candidate can choose any one) • Result announcement - January 31, 2019 JEE Main-II • Online submission of application to start from February 8, 2019 • Online submission of application process end date - March 7, 2019 • Admit cards release date - March 18, 2019 • Exam Date (CBT) - April 6 and April 20, 2019 (8 different sitings and candidate can choose any one) • Result announcement - April 30, 2019

JEE Main Multiple exam dates

• Besides, conducting the exam twice a year, in an another significant change, these exams will be held over many days • Students will have the option to choose a date from 8 different sitings • In case the student appeared for the JEE (Main) and NEET twice, the best of his/ her two scores will be taken into account • The JEE Main 2019 Result for both the months will be announced separately • Candidates can check the official website of NTA - ntaexams.co.in - for information on JEE Main 2019 Result

JEE Main: Eligibility criteria

• A score of at least 75 per cent in class 12 board exams, OR • A place among the top 20 percentile of the Boards is required to be eligible for JEE main or advanced • The bar has been lowered to 65 per cent for candidates of the SC and ST categories

JEE Main 2019 Exam Pattern

• It will be a computer based online test • The duration of the test will be 3 hours • It will be an objective type (MCQ ) question paper • English and Hindi languages will be the medium available to appear for the exam • 30 questions each shall be asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics section for Paper 1(BE/BTech) • 50 questions will be asked from the aptitude section • 30 questions from Mathematics section • 2 questions from the drawing part for candidates appearing for Paper B(B.Arch/B.Plan)

JEE exam Marking Scheme

Marking Scheme will be as follows: • For every correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded • For an incorrect answer, there will be a negative marking of 1 mark • No marks will be deducted if an answer is left unanswered

JEE Main Cut off

• As mentioned earlier after the JEE Main 2019 Results are out, candidates will be able to check the cutoff for various undergraduate engineering courses • The cut off marks vary every year across candidates of the different category • Candidates will be able to apply for the college whose cutoff matches to the rank or score secured by that candidate

JEE exam Significance

• Clearing the JEE mains and advanced papers will make candidates eligible for admission to Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech), Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) courses at Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) across India.
