The general opinion of candidates has been that Paper 1 was moderate, however, compared to Paper 2 it was difficult.
New Delhi: Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) was held on Sunday, August 28. The online test was conducted for applicants seeking admission to undergraduate engineering courses at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The exam was comprised of two papers - Paper 1 was conducted from 9 am to 12 noon, whereas, Paper 2 was conducted between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm. The top 2.5 lakh rank holders of JEE Main results were eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, and a total of 1.6 lakh students, including 50 foreign nationals, registered for the JEE (Advanced) 2022.
The general opinion of candidates has been that Paper 1 was moderate, however, compared to Paper 2 it was difficult. In Paper 1, Maths was rated the toughest, Physics was moderate and Chemistry was rated easy, according to The Indian Express.
Ramesh Batlish of FIITJEE Expert said that candidates felt the Mathematics section was tricky and difficult. There were two questions from 3D geometry. Some tricky questions from Functions, Matrices, Ellipse, Vectors, Probability, Harmonic Progressions, and Trigonometric Equations.
For Paper 2, the Physics section was considered a bit difficult. Maths was comparatively easier from the past years, chemistry was the same as in previous years.
Saurabh Kumar, Chief Academic Officer, Vidyamandir Classes told the news outlet, that the biggest change this time was that the matrix match type question was given as an optional question which reduced the stress on the students.
What Is The Tie-Breaking Policy?
If the aggregate mark between two candidates is the same, a tie-break policy is followed.
- Candidates having higher positive marks will be awarded a higher rank.
- Or, the higher rank is given to the one who has the higher aggregate marks in maths, if it is the same, Physics aggregate marks are chosen.
In case, these steps fail they are given the same rank.
The provisional answer key will likely be out on September 3, 10 am. Candidates will be allowed to raise objections by 5 pm on September 4. The final answer key is expected to be out on September 11 at 10 am along with the final JEE Advanced result.
