The initial salary of an IAS officer starts from 56,000 per month in pay level 10 to 2,50,000 per month for Cabinet Secretary in pay level 18. The salary of an IAS officer is fixed by the Ministry of Personnel, Union Government of India. Dearness Allowance (DA)

DA is a very important part of a IAS officer it includes the regular increment of the salary by the Government. DA has even increased upto 103% of the basic pay.

House Rent Allowance (HRA)

House rent allowance of an IAS officer ranges from city to city. HRA is decided based on the city where the IAS officer is posted. House rent allowance generally ranges between 8% to 24% of the basic pay.

Medical Allowance

The IAS salary includes medical allowances which can get reimbursed in case of a medical treatment.

Leave Travel Concession (LTC)

LTC allows officers to travel to their hometown or other parts of India once or twice during their tenure.
