GATE 2024 Registration Last Date Extended To October 5, See Details

GATE 2024 application process has been extended to October 5, 2023.

The Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc) has extended the last date for online application for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2024). IISc witnessed a surge of over 1.37 lakh submissions received on September 29, 2023. In response to this overwhelming response, the institute has extended the regular registration deadline to October 5, allowing more aspiring candidates to complete their applications. Interested candidates can fill out the application form on the official website at goaps.iisc.ac.in. It's essential for individuals aiming to pursue postgraduate (PG) and direct doctoral programs at IITs and IISc to appear for this examination. Moreover, GATE scores are often utilised for recruitment by various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

The initial deadline for GATE 2024 applications was September 29, with a late fee option open until October 13. However, in light of the latest announcement, candidates are now permitted to apply at the standard registration fee rate until October 5. Late fee will be applicable after October 5, 2023. 

“GATE 2024 received more than 1,37.000 applications today! To enable more aspirants to apply for GATE 2024, registration (without late fee) is being extended until October 5, 2023. Late fee will be applicable after October 5, 2023. Please do not wait until the last date. Apply right away! GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS): https://goaps.iisc.ac.in,” the IISc said.

GATE 2024 Registration: How To Apply?

To apply for the GATE 2024 examination, follow these steps:

  • Visit the official website of IISc GATE at gate2024.iisc.ac.in.
  • Click on the registration link and provide the necessary details.
  • After completing the registration, log in to your account.
  • Fill out the application form and make the payment of the application fees.
  • Click on the "submit" button and download the confirmation page.
  • Retain a hard copy of the confirmation page for future reference.

The registration fees for GATE 2024 are categorized as follows, with both regular and late application fee details:

Category: Reserved and female candidates

  • Regular fees: Rs 900
  • Late fee: Rs 1,400

Category: All other categories

  • Regular fees: Rs 1,800
  • Late fee: Rs 2,300
