DU Postpones Open Book Exams For Final Year Undergraduates; Check Important Dates

The Delhi University has submitted at the Delhi High Court its decision to postpone the upcoming final year undergraduate exams from July to August.

New Delhi: The Delhi University (DU) has told the Delhi High Court that it will postpone the upcoming open book final year exams. Earlier this month the University had released the date sheet for the exams and it was scheduled to begin from July 10. According to a report by PTI the DU submitted in the court that it will conduct the exams after August 15. The decision was given while the court was hearing a petition filed by several final year students who wanted withdrawal of the notifications of May 14, May 30, and June 27 on online exams for undergraduate and postgraduate students. This also included the School of Open Learning and Non-Collegiate Women Education Board. You are saying you are ready but the minutes of your meeting shows the contrary”, said Justice Singh to the DU counsel according to the report. The court has also recommended that the varsity evaluate final year students based on the previous year or semester exam results. Several students complained of problems such as incorrect question papers, network issues, and problems with logging. The Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) alleged that its members were overwhelmed by the panic mails from students. Many students who were trying to log in were unable to do so as they got messages like wrong email ID even though it was the same email address that they had mentioned in their form and earlier received communication from the university, the DUTA said. The mock exams were supposed to be conducted until July 8.
