CUET Admit Cards 2022: Trouble For Candidates, Exam Dates Mentioned In Hall Tickets Already Passed

The first session of CUET, which was divided into six parts, has been hampered by problems, resulting in exam cancellations at several centers and exam delays for some students.

Several Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG candidates complain that the exam dates shown on their admit cards have already passed, notwithstanding the fact that the date previously communicated to them was different, news agency PTI reported.

The first session of CUET, which was divided into six parts, has been hampered by problems, resulting in exam cancellations at several centers and exam delays for some students.

However, the postponing of the exam for some candidates, as well as attempts to accommodate the choice of city for exam centre, has left students concerned, as their admit cards and city intimation slips indicate various dates.

Students have written to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) asking another chance to take the test.

Yuvraj Singh Chauhan of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, has been informed that his exam is set on August 10. When he downloaded his admission card on August 7, he was astounded to see that his exam date had already gone.

"The admit cards are not available much ahead of the exam and only city intimation slips. Even if the exam date has been changed some intimation should be given. My exam date has already passed and I have been emailing NTA about the problem requesting for a retest but I haven't heard from them yet," he was quoted by PTI in its report.

Atulsen Singh Yadav of Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, has a similar complaint.

"My exam was rescheduled on August 30 because I retained my intimated city (Balrampur) but today when I download the admit card then the exam date mentioned is August 17, which is already over," he said. According to UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar, the students with grievances need to write to the NTA with their application number. "After verification, NTA will take a decision on permitting them to write a retest," he informed PTI.

On Sunday, the fifth part of the critical exam, which serves as a gateway for undergraduate admissions to key institutions across the country, began.

Nikhil R Mishra, a CUET aspirant from Bihar, was astonished to discover his admit card since not only had the test date given in the city intimation slip altered, but so had his designated city, which was five hours away.

"If we will keep worrying about this, how will we study and prepare for the exam? How can one focus amid such chaos?" he said.

Raunak Patkar of Kanpur received an email on August 6 alerting him that his test is scheduled for the second shift that day.

However, his admit card was not accessible for download until a day prior, and the date previously communicated to him was incorrect.

According to the original plan, all phases of the CUET-UG would be completed by August 20.

The NTA, which is in charge of administering the admission exam, later stated that all stages of the exam will complete on August 28.

However, the exam has now been divided into six stages and the schedule has been further postponed.

The UGC chairman had previously stated that the test had been cancelled at numerous locations due to complaints of "sabotage."

With 14.9 lakh registrations, the CUET, the common entrance test for undergraduate admissions in all central institutions, has surpassed the JEE-average Main's registration of nine lakh.

With an average of 18 lakh registrants, NEET-UG is India's largest admission exam.
