CBSE To Exempt Exam, Registration Fees For Students Who Lost Parents Due To Covid-19

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has in a humanitarian gesture announced to waive the exam and registration fees of those students, who have lost their parents due to Covid-19.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the country adversely and keeping in view of its impact on students, CBSE, as a special measure for Academic Session 2021-22, has decided that neither the examination fees nor the registration fees will be charged by the Board from the student(s) who have lost both parents or surviving parent or legal guardian/adoptive parents due to COVID-19 pandemic,” read the official notice issued by the CBSE.

“Therefore, the schools, while submitting the LOC, will provide the details of these students after verifying the genuineness,” the notice added.

The CBSE had earlier asked all the schools to send the list of candidates for Classes 10 and 12 without late fees till September 30 and with late fees till October 9.

The CBSE, which has revised the syllabus this year, will conduct the first term examination for the students of Class 10 and 12 from November to December.

According to the new syllabus, the students will be constantly evaluated and several projects and activities will be conducted for distribution of fair marks.

Classes 10 and 12 have been divided into two terms- Term 1 and Term 2. The examinations will be conducted at the end of each term.
