CBSE Board Exam: In order to improve the education system of India, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is reportedly planning to change the question papers pattern for the Class X and XII examinations, according to the report by TOI. The report quoted a senior HRD minister official as saying that the new exam pattern would test students on their analytical abilities rather rote learning. The questions in the exam will focus more on problem-solving abilities. It will have more short questions carrying one to five marks.
Besides, the board will reportedly hold the vocational subject tests earlier in the month of February while it will conduct main subjects towards the end of March. The board is expected to implement the changes in the exams that it will conduct from 2020. The plan also includes releasing of results early.
As per the report, the decision to revamp the system will be taken to assess students based on their analytical skills instead of pushing them to mug up their curriculum.
The board among other changes has also reportedly submitted new bylaws regarding affiliation or renewal of schools to the ministry for approval. According to this, the affiliation will be awarded or renewed on the basis of their academic qualities instead of their physical infrastructure.
