CBSE Asks Schools Not To Commence Academic Session Before April, Check Notice
The CBSE board said that a few schools have initiated their academic session earlier than the prescribed date this year.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed schools to adhere to its calendar and commence the academic session only after April 1st every year. The board said that a few schools have initiated their academic session earlier than the prescribed date this year.
“It has been noticed that some of the affiliated schools have started their academic session quite early in the year. Attempting to complete an entire year's worth of I coursework in a reduced timeframe poses risks for students who may get overwhelmed and struggle to keep up with the pace of the learning, leading to anxiety and burnout,” the board said in the circular.
“It little or no time to carry out extracurricular activities like life skills, value education, health and physical education, work education and community service. These activities are as important as academics,” said CBSE.
CBSE further added that The Principals and Heads of Institutions of the schools affiliated with the Board are, therefore, advised to refrain from beginning academic sessions before April 1st each year and strictly follow Academic Session from 1st April to 31 March.
CBSE Board Exam To Conclude Soon
The CBSE Class 10 board exams will conclude on March 21, while the Class 12 exams will continue till April 5. This year, over 38 lakh students have registered for the exam. For the CBSE Class 10, approximately 21,86,940 have registered for the exam out of which 9,39,566 are female and 12,47,364 are male candidates. For Class 12, approximately 16,96,770 students have registered for paper out of which 7,45,433 are female candidates and 9,51,332 are male candidates.
Earlier, CBSE warns students against rumours and fake information about ongoing CBSE Exams.
“It has come to the notice of the Board that certain unscrupulous elements are regularly spreading rumours on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms about paper leak or claiming to have access to question papers of 2023 exams. These persons, groups and agencies intend to fleece the gullible students and parents as they demand money in return. Such irresponsible activities create confusion and panic among the students and public,” CBSE said in a notice.
“The Board is vigilant and active in identifying and taking action against those spreading fake news and rumours” the notice added.
