Weather Update: Light Rain Expected In Delhi-NCR And Adjoining Areas Over Next 2 Hours

Regional Weather Forecasting Centre has predicted light rain over Delhi NCR and adjoining areas in the next two hours.

The Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC) on Wednesday predicted light-intensity rainfall and drizzle in the next two hours over the Delhi-NCR and its adjoining areas such as Haryana and Rajasthan. RWFC posted on Twitter, "Light intensity rain/drizzle and gusty winds with speed of 30-40 Km/h would occur over and adjoining areas of isolated places of Delhi ( Narela, Bawana, Jafarpur, Deramandi), NCR ( Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad) Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Mattanhail, isolated places of Delhi ( Narela, Bawana, Jafarpur, Deramandi), NCR ( Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad) Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Mattanhail, Jhajjar (Haryana) Sadulpur (Rajasthan) during next 2 hours".

Earlier in the day, RWFC in its weather forecast update bulletin predicted that there will be a gradual rise in maximum temperature by 3-5 degrees Celsius in the plains of Northwest India over the period of the next five days, reported news agency ANI. The bulletin said, "Uttar Pradesh and Haryana will also experience strong surface winds with speeds between 25 to 30 kmph during April and April 13."

Delhi witnessed the highest temperature of this year so far on Tuesday when the maximum temperature stood at 36.8 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted the maximum temperature to be above normal in Northwest India from April to June. The weatherman also predicted that the heat waves for the same region will also be more than usual.

The maximum temperature at some weather stations crossed the mark of 38-39 degrees Celsius. The national capital is bracing itself for a prolonged dry spell which is expected to drive the temperature up to 40 degrees Celsius at isolated places in the city over the next week.
