Thunderstorms with moderate-intensity rain are expected across Kosali, Rewari, Bawal (Haryana), and Khairthal (Rajasthan) over the next two hours.
The weather service further linked the cloud development above the national capital to a western disturbance caused by heavy circulation over Central Pakistan, and predicted that the clouds would last till tomorrow.
Winter is expected to get colder in northern India, according to the India Meteorological Department, with temperatures dropping by two to three degrees in the following days. The meteorological service further stated that fog would intensify across Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab beginning tomorrow, November 28.
"The (weather) in the national capital Delhi is currently cloudy and this will continue for the next 12-18 hours,” IMD Senior Scientist RK Jenamani told news agency ANI.
“The weather will be clear from tomorrow and the temperature is expected to fall by 2 to 3 degrees at night. Fog will increase in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab from November 28,” he added.
The meteorological service forecasted a typically overcast sky with the likelihood of very light rain or drizzle in Delhi beginning Sunday night.
