The incident took place at Commander Hospital in Vikas Nagar. The three of them had gone inside the water tank to check the faulty motor pump.

New Delhi: Three people died after being electrocuted in a water tank at a hospital in Delhi on Friday, news agency ANI reported. Among those killed were a 40-year-old man along with his son, both plumbers by profession, and an electrician.

According to the report, the incident took place at Commander Hospital in Vikas Nagar. The three of them had gone inside the water tank to check the faulty motor pump.

Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and police are investigating the matter.

"We got a PCR call at 2.48 pm saying three men were trapped in a private hospital water tank due to electric shock and urgent help was required. Immediately, a team from Ranhola Police Station was rushed. Reason of death will be established only after autopsy reports. Bodies have been shifted to DDU hospital, Delhi, and further proceedings are being conducted as per law," PTI quoted a senior police officer as saying.

In a similar incident, two children sustained burn injuries due to electric shock from decorative lights for Diwali in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj Enclave.

According to reports, the two children, nine and 12-year-old, were rushed to the nearby hospital. Their condition is said to be stable.

According to police, their parents said the children came in contact with the lights in the terrace of their house while playing. No complaint was lodged with the police.

Earlier this week, a 23-year-old woman and her nine-month-old baby died due to electrocution after they stepped on a live wire on the footpath near Hope Farm in Bengaluru, news agency PTI reported.
