AAP MP Sanjay Singh's 87-year-old father forbade party workers from using "unparliamentary language" while raising anti-BJP slogans. Singh was arrested by the ED in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy Scam case.

Singh's wife stated, "They questioned and searched the house, computer, and documents but did not find anything. There was pressure upon them (ED officials) to arrest him, and they arrested him. They (ED) did not give us any reason. We all are with him. He has been arrested in a fake case."

"The ED conducted raids throughout the day and found nothing. They had come with a plan. I have faith in God and the judiciary, truth will come out and we will win," she was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Arvind Kejriwal Along With His Wife Sunita Meets Sanjay Singh's Family:

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, along with his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, visited the family members of AAP MP Sanjay Singh.

Kejriwal took to Twitter to condemn the arrest of AAP MP Sanjay Singh, asserting that it is "completely illegal". "This shows Modi Ji's desperation," Kejriwal's tweeted, "This shows Modi Ji's desperation. They will arrest many more opposition leaders..."

Sanjay Singh's arrest weakens the AAP, which is led by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and has already seen Manish Sisodia and Satyander Jain imprisoned.

Prior to Singh's arrest, ED agents questioned members of his staff and others connected to the 51-year-old Rajya Sabha MP.

Sanjay Singh's name appeared in the ED's charge sheet, which detailed his alleged involvement with a middleman named Dinesh Arora. Arora claimed to have met Singh at an event at Unplugged Courtyard, his restaurant. According to the charge sheet, in 2020, Singh allegedly asked Arora to assist restaurant owners in raising funds for the Aam Aadmi Party's Delhi assembly election campaign, which resulted in an 82 lakh cheque being issued for this purpose.

In response, the ED opened an investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
