New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to take out a “shobha yatra” and organise community kitchens in Delhi on Monday, news agency PTI reported citing its sources. The yatra coincides with the grand inauguration and the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
According to the report, AAP will be taking out the yatra on Monday and it will be attended by senior party leaders. The party will also organise ‘bhandaras’ (community kitchens) across the national capital.
The AAP dispensation is also organising a three-day Ramlila event at Pearey Lal Bhawan that started on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena approved Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's proposal to close all the government offices till 2.30 PM in view of the Ram Temple event on Monday.
Delhi Meat Merchant Association general secretary Irshad Qureshi has also appealed to all the traders in the national capital selling meat and fish to close their shops on Monday.
"We have made an appeal to all slaughter houses and meat and fish sellers to close their shops on January 22 to show respect to the celebration of our Hindu brothers and sisters on the occasion of Ram Temple inauguration,” Qureshi told PTI.
Earlier this week, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said he will visit Ayodhya after the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple.
“I got a letter that said only one person was allowed for the ceremony due to security reasons. They said a team will come to give a personal invitation but no one came. I want to visit for a darshan of Ram Lalla along with my wife and children. My parents are also longing for a darshan of Ram Lalla. I will go after the January 22 ceremony along with my wife, children and parents,” he told PTI.
