Lawns At India Gate Temporarily Shut In Parts To Keep Grass Alive Amid Heavy Footfall

The India Gate lawns that were opened for the public after several months of redevelopment, are being temporarily to keep the grass alive.

The India Gate lawns that were opened for the public in September, after several months of redevelopment, are being temporarily shut in parts to keep the grass alive, news agency ANI reported. Responding to the decision taken by Central Public Works Department (CPWD) officials, a man at the spot said that If parks need to be shut, the government should find us other options for seating. He further said that people should also act responsibly.

A park or two which are a little away from public eye can be opened, a local resident told ANI. “The reason to shut off parks makes sense as aesthetics need to be maintained but a park or two which are a little away from public eye can be opened,” ANI quoted a local resident as saying.
