"At a time when Delhi needed more water, there is shortage of water in Delhi. The total water supply in Delhi is 1,005 MGD (million gallons per day). Out of this, 613 MGD comes from Haryana. But, from the last two weeks, Haryana government has been only 513 MGD water. I, being the Water Minister, tried every possible thing to get a solution," Atishi said.
Atishi claimed that despite Himachal agreeing to give water to Delhi, Haryana was not ready to supply water.
"Himachal was ready to give us water, but even that water had to come through Haryana, for which Haryana was not ready. Now, I have no avenue left; after all possible efforts, I am not able to see the pain of people of Delhi. Tomorrow, from June 21, I will sit on an indefinite strike," the Delhi Minister said.
