Of the total, 495 people were fined for drunk driving, 47 for dangerous driving, 132 for driving on the wrong side, 3,452 for improper parking, and 117 for tinted glass, it said.
Additionally, 347 driving licenses were confiscated from those violating traffic rules, Traffic police said.

Traffic police deployed more than 2,500 personnel for smooth movement of vehicles on Sunday, they said. According to the police, more than 10,000 personnel were deployed on the ground to curb hooliganism and traffic violations, reported news agency PTI.
As many as 250 teams of the Delhi Traffic Police were deployed to curb drunk driving, officials said.
Movement of vehicles going towards Connaught Place was regulated after 8 pm on Sunday. Around 450 motorcycles were positioned at different places, PTI quoted Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) SS Yadav as saying.
On Sunday, police put up multiple layers of barricades in Delhi's border areas near Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
283 People Booked For Drunk Driving In Mumbai
The Mumbai Police have registered cases against 283 people for driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol during the New Year celebrations, an official said on Monday.
The traffic police organised a campaign against drunk driving in the 12 hours ending at 8 am on Monday during which security personnel were deployed at various important locations in the city, he said.
During the campaign, the police took action against 283 people for drunk driving, the official said.
Cases were registered for the violation of traffic rules and fines were also imposed, he said.
