Cold Wave Continues To Freeze Delhi As Minimum Temperature Dips To 6°C
Delhi wakes up to another chilly morning engulfed by dense fog as the minimum temperature remained below 10 degrees Celsius for another day.
Delhi residents woke up to dense fog and a chilly morning on Wednesday as the minimum temperature stood at 6.2 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast mist for the day with a cloudy sky in the town. Despite the cold weather, individuals were spotted cycling and jogging on the Kartavya Path. One of the residents, out for a morning walk, said the weather is harsh in the national capital.
"While I enjoy the winters, Delhi experiences a harsh, cold season," the man told ANI.

The air quality index in Delhi was 'Poor' with an AQI of 268, as per 9 am data of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). This follows the national capital recording a maximum temperature of 23.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, just above the normal range, while the minimum temperature dropped to 7.8 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was at 87 percent at 8:30 am and lowered to 47 percent by 5:30 pm.

Meanwhile, Guwahati in Assam witnessed a drop in visibility due to dense fog. Similarly, in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad, people lit bonfires to seek relief from the prevailing cold wave conditions.

The average air quality index (AQI) stood in the poor category, with a reading of 295 at 9 AM on Tuesday morning. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.
