Delhi BJP Leaders & Workers Stage Protest Against Arvind Kejriwal In Capital's ITO Area — WATCH

Delhi BJP workers and leaders staged a protest against Arvind Kejriwal in ITO area today.

Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party workers and leaders on Tuesday protested against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, at ITO in Delhi. The protest was being led by Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdeva and was held seeking Kejriwal's resignation from the Delhi CM post.

A few weeks ago, BJP had organised a counter-protest demanding the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi. A day after the Holi celebrations, the saffron party cnducted the march and proceeded from the Arun Jaitley Stadium to the Delhi Secretariat.

BJP has been consistently calling for the AAP chief's resignation following his arrest.

On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party has asserted that their chief will continue to serve as Delhi's Chief Minister, even if he has to operate from within the confines of a prison.

Following his arrest, Kejriwal has become the first-ever serving chief minister to be arrested. Previously, former chief minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren was arrested, but he had tendered his resignation moments ahead of his arrest.

SC Questions ED Over Delay In Probe

The Supreme Court questioned the Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday over the delay in its probe into the excise policy-linked money laundering case which involves Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The top court also asked the agency to produce the case files prior to the arrest of the AAP leader.

The bench who would be pronouncing the order on the Delhi Chief Minister's interim bail comprises of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta.

It also asked the ED to produce case files before and after the arrest of Delhi's former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, who has also been arrested in the same case.

The AAP supremo was arrested on March 21 and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail under judicial custody after he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the money laundering in the formulation and execution of the Delhi government's now-scrapped excise policy for 2021-22.

On April 15, Supreme Court had issued a notice to the ED seeking a response to the plea filed by Kejriwal against his arrest. The Delhi CM has filed a plea after, the Delhi High Court, on April 9, upheld Kejriwal's arrest, stating that there was no illegality and the probe agency was not left with any other option, since he skipped repeated summonses and refused to join the probe.
