Yati Narsinghanand Giri Booked In Ghaziabad For 'Spreading Hate, Abusing Police Officers'
Priest Yati Narsinghanand Giri has been booked by Ghaziabad police for allegedly spreading hate and abusing top police officers.

Controversial priest Yati Narsinghanand Giri has been booked by Ghaziabad police for allegedly spreading hate and abusing top police officers of the district in a video, said the officials on Saturday.
The priest of the Dasna Devi Temple has been accused of making derogatory remarks against Mahatma Gandhi and using words intended to incite religious sentiments, cause criminal intimidation, insult, defame, and disturb public peace, stated the FIR lodged by police, reported PTI.
The complainant has also alleged that the controversial priest used abusive language against the Ghaziabad police commissioner and the assistant police commissioner of Loni in a video.
The complaint was filed at the Wave police station on Friday, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rural) Surendra Nath Tiwari. The complainant alleged that Narsinghanand's statements were designed to provoke and disrupt communal harmony.
Investigation into the matter was underway, the officer added.

Past Controversies
Giri has been known for making derogatory comments about Muslims for which he faced backlash. In December last year, he led a ritual dedicated to 'Mother Goddes Bagalamukhi' seeking the "destruction of Islamic Jihadis".
According to him, the complete annihilation of "Islamic Jihadis" responsible for killing Hindus in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India is essential to safeguard "humanity".
In November, he was placed under house arrest by the police, restricting his movement and that of his disciples to prevent any disruption during a conference organised by Muslim cleric Tauqeer Raza.
The conference, addressing the Waqf Board Amendment Bill, was scheduled to take place at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan.
Narsinghanand and his followers started reciting the Hanuman Chalisa within the temple premises as they were stopped by the police.
In a statement, he criticised the actions of Raza, Madni, and Owaisi, accusing them of exploiting Hindu kindness. “If they can gather a crowd to terrorise Hindus, we too can stand in front of them,” he remarked.
