UP CM Yogi Slams SP On Use Of Urdu And English Over Bundelkhandi, Awadhi In State Assembly
In the Uttar Pradesh assembly, a heated debate erupted between the ruling and opposition parties over the use of local dialects.

A fierce debate was witnessed between the ruling and opposition parties on the local dialect of UP in the state assembly today. Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey demanded that Urdu language be used instead of English in the House language and accused of forcefully imposing English.
However, UP CM Yogi Adityanath got angry on this and attacked the Samajwadi Party in the House and called it the double character of the SP. He said that the opposition opposes every good work.
CM Yogi said, "Why is Samajwadi Party opposing Bhojpuri, Bundelkhandi and Awadhi. This is the hypocrisy of SP. People of SP have a double character. It is a very strange thing that people of Samajwadi Party are advocating Urdu. The character of the socialists has become so double that they will send their children to English medium schools. They want your children to study Urdu and make them Maulvi. Do the leaders of SP want to take the country towards fundamentalism? This is not going to work."

The Chief Minister said, "We congratulate that these dialects get respect, for this we formed academies, today the Indian expatriates living in Mauritius Fiji in the world are the Awadhi speaking people. These dialects of UP should be in the proceedings of the House."
On this, Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey said that Urdu is also a dialect of UP. "A large number of people speak this language. We want that Urdu is also included in it. How many people are there in the villages today who speak in English. I am opposing only and only English. It is being imposed on us", he said.
