Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to clash in Match 4 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on March 24 (Monday) at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Both sides will be eager to kick off their campaign with a win, having narrowly missed out on playoff spots last season due to net run rate (NRR).

Rishabh Pant, who captained Delhi Capitals until last season, will now don the LSG jersey, while KL Rahul, LSG’s skipper until IPL 2024, has joined the Delhi Capitals squad for the 2025 season at a price of INR 14 crore. Pant became the costliest player in IPL auction history at INR 27, adding more intrigue to the contest.

Under new captain Axar Patel, DC have added KL Rahul as their wicketkeeper-batter and boast a solid top order with Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Rahul, alongside a strong bowling unit featuring Mitchell Starc, Mohit Sharma, T Natarajan and Kuldeep Yadav.

Meanwhile, LSG have appointed Rishabh Pant as captain, with a powerful batting lineup including Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran and David Miller. LSG’s bowling department has been severely affected by injuries, with Mohsin Khan already ruled out of the tournament, while Avesh Khan and Mayank Yadav are expected to miss a significant number of matches.
