UP Dentist Surrenders Months After Two Engineers Die Following Hair Transplant Surgery
Two engineers tragically died within 48 hours of a hair transplant in Kanpur, leading to the surrender of the accused dentist, Anushka Tiwari.

In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur, two engineers have allegedly died within 48 hours of undergoing hair transplant surgery. The controversial case has led to the arrest of Dr. Anushka Tiwari, a dentist who allegedly performed the surgery despite not having the necessary qualifications. The accused, who had been on the run, surrendered at a local court on Monday and has since been remanded to judicial custody, according to police reports.
According to reports, Jaya Tripathi, the wife of deceased engineer Vinit Kumar Dubey, filed a police complaint on May 9, nearly two months after her husband's tragic demise. The complaint states that her husband, an engineer, underwent the surgery on March 13 and tragically passed away two days later on March 15 at a different hospital.
Jaya Tripathi alleges that the police initially failed to take her complaint seriously, prompting her to approach the Chief Minister's Grievance Cell, which eventually led to the registration of a case.
Dilip Singh, a government lawyer, confirmed the gravity of the charges against Dr. Tiwari. "There are serious allegations against Anushka Tiwari. Anushka Tiwari has performed surgery, which is not related to her field. We have sufficient evidence in this regard. A case has been registered in Kakadev police station. Prima facie Anushka Tiwari is guilty. Today Dr. Anushka Tiwari has surrendered in court. After her surrender, she has been sent to jail," Dilip Singh said as reported by NDTV.
In her police complaint, Jaya Tripathi recounted the events following her husband's surgery. She claimed that she received a call on March 14 informing her of her husband's swelling face and attempted to contact Dr. Tiwari, but to no avail. It was only when she called Dr. Tiwari again at 11 pm that the doctor admitted to performing the surgery without conducting necessary tests. Ms. Tripathi has provided call records of the conversation as evidence.
Following his death, Dr. Anushka Tiwari reportedly went missing.
Investigation Underway
A senior police officer overseeing the investigation explained that the case is still in its early stages. "A woman has complained that her husband died during a hair transplant surgery. A preliminary investigation was conducted in which a complaint was lodged against a doctor. Scientific evidence is being collected," the officer said.
