Truck Catches Fire After Contact With High-Tension Wire In Gujarat, Driver Kept Driving For 10 km

A truck carrying sacks of chillies caught fire after coming into contact with a high-tension wire in the Gondal Kolithad of Gujarat. Despite the fire, the truck continued moving for 10 kilometers, during which the chillies, worth lakhs, were destroyed.
According to a report by Jagran, the incident occurred as the truck was crossing a river near Hadmatala village. The driver was unaware of the tragedy that the truck had caught fire and continued driving on the road. People standing along the roadside noticed the burning truck and started chasing it.
The truck finally stopped after traveling about 10 kilometers, and only then did the driver realise the fire. The truck was quickly overturned to prevent further damage, but by then, the chilli sacks were completely burnt.

After the truck stopped, the Gondal Fire Brigade arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. However, by the time they arrived at the scene, the entire consignment had been destroyed. Fortunately, no casualties were reported during the incident. The consignment belonged to a businessman from Rajasthan.
Picnic Bus Catches Fire In Tripura, 13 Students Injured
In a separate incident, at least 13 school students sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out in a picnic bus in the West Tripura district on Sunday (January 6). The incident occurred in the Sidhai Mohanpur Jagatpur Choumuni area of the district when the bus suddenly caught fire following a generator explosion.
Nine students were shifted to GBP Hospital in Agartala for further treatment, while four others were discharged after receiving care at a local medical center, West Tripura SP Kiran Kumar told PTI.
He added, "The bus caught fire due to a blast of a generator which was kept inside the vehicle. An investigation is underway."
