Bihar Man Shoots Teenage Girl, Her Father At Ara Railway Station

Bihar News: A 23-24-year-old man shot dead a 16-17-year-old girl and her father at Ara Railway Station in Bihar before shooting himself.

A man shot dead a teenage girl and her father before shooting himself at Ara Railway Station in Bihar's Bhojpur district. According to the police, there could be a love angle involved in the incident, which occurred early on Wednesday.

ASP Parichay Kumar says, "Three people died of gunshot wounds on the overbridge between platforms 3 and 4 of Ara Railway Station. According to the witnesses, a man aged 23-24 years shot a girl aged 16-17 years and her father. He later shot himself."

RPF (Railway Protection Force) Senior Commandant Prakash Panda said, "A love angle is suspected; the rest will be confirmed once we reach the spot. A man reportedly killed another man first and then his daughter."

As per local media reports, the deceased have been identified as Anil Singh and his daughter Ayushi Kumari. The man who shot them has been identified as Aman Kumar, son of Shatrughan Singh. Ayushi and her father were said to have been going to Delhi.

Rising Crime In Bihar

Bihar has seen a steady rise in crimes over the past few weeks. This is a worrying trend, especially with just a few months left before the polls. The last three to four weeks saw policemen and members of the general public being murdered at will.

Even a relative of a union minister and an NRI were murdered in Bihar.

The Opposition has grabbed the opportunity and mounted a sharp attack on Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for failing to ensure the safety of people in the state. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that the chief minister should have given an account of the past 20 years. "As many as 60,000 murders have occurred, 25,000 rapes have taken place, and the highest number of police killings and assaults happened during their rule. Nitish Kumar must answer for this. Today, no one feels safe. Everyone feels insecure, and you will see that even in Nalanda, the Chief Minister's home district, he has not said a word about the victimised women,” Yadav said.
