Tamil Nadu: Nursing Student Alleges 'Abduction And Gangrape'. Police Say 'Complaint False, Filed Due To Stress'

The nursing student claimed that the perpetrators sexually assaulted her in a moving vehicle before dropping her near the Dindigul railway station.

A nursing student in Tamil Nadu’s Theni district, who had claimed to have been abducted and gangraped by unidentified individuals, has been found to have filed a false complaint due to mental stress, according to police investigations. The police revealed that there was no evidence to support her allegations of abduction or sexual assault.

The student initially alleged that she had been kidnapped from Theni’s old bus stand while on her way to college. She claimed that the perpetrators sexually assaulted her in a moving vehicle before dropping her near the Dindigul railway station, where she sought help and filed a complaint at the Dindigul All Women Police Station, as reported by News 18.

Following her complaint, the authorities admitted the student to the Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital for treatment and a medical examination. Later, a case was also registered and the investigation was launched to verify her claims.

However, during the course of the investigation, Dindigul District Police stated that there was no evidence to substantiate her allegations of abduction or gangrape. The police concluded that the complaint was filed under mental distress by the complaintant, and the accusations were not factual. "The investigation has found no evidence of abduction or harassment," a police official confirmed, as per ANI.
