After Airlines And Schools, Taj Mahal Gets Bomb Threat, Turns Out To Be Hoax
Syed Areeb Ahmed, ACP Taj Security, said that the tourism department received a threat mail following which a case has been registered at Tajganj police station.
The iconic Taj Mahal in Agra received a bomb threat on Tuesday, officials said. The threat was sent via an email to the Tourism Department.
Syed Areeb Ahmed, ACP Taj Security, said that the tourism department received a threat mail following which a case has been registered at Tajganj police station. Following the bomb threat, security has been heightened in the Taj Mahal.
"Tourism department received the email. Based on that, a case is being registered at Tajganj police station. Further investigation is being done," Syed Areeb Ahmed said.
In 2021, the monument had received a similar bomb threat after which the Taj Mahal was briefly shut and tourists evacuated. The call was made to the police helpline following which the police informed the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, who asked visitors to vacate the premises of the iconic monument.
