Gujarat Serial Killer Rapes Minor, Kills Girl In Surat, Returns To Commit 'Necrophilia'

The accused has also confessed to involvement in four other murders aboard trains, including incidents in Mangalore, Howrah, Secunderabad, and on a train route between Pune and Kanyakumari.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in Surat, Gujarat for the rape and murder of a 19-year-old college girl near Udvada railway station. The accused identified as Rahul alias Bholu Karmvir Ishwar Jat reportedly raped the minor several times. After strangling her he also allegedly intercourse with her corpse.

According to police, Jat has allegedly killed other four people since October before raping and strangling the girl on Nov. 14, then engaged in necrophilia with her corpse. As per the report by Times of India, he left the crime scene and visited Udvada railway station, where he had a fruit salad and came up with a water bottle.

Later, after a while returning to the spot, he had sex with the girl's body corpse. He also spent some moments at the spot and hid behind some bushes when the friends and family of the girl reached the site looking for her. "He returned to the spot to have intercourse with the corpse again. Police are working to collect evidence to establish this gruesome crime," said a police officer.

After committing the crime, the accused initially left the scene but left his luggage behind with plans to return. He later came back and engaged in necrophilia. However, as more people began moving around the area, he was forced to flee again, abandoning his belongings.

CCTV Footages Play Vital Role In Solving Case

The luggage became a key lead in the investigation. Police matched the clothes and bag with CCTV footage from nearby railway stations and identified a match at Vapi railway station. These images and videos proved instrumental in solving the case, with a staff member from Lajpore Central Jail in Surat recognising the accused.

During a crime reconstruction on Tuesday, the suspect detailed his movements and escape. The reconstruction panchnama is likely to serve as critical evidence in the case.

The college student was on her way home from tuition class and decided to take the path alongside the railway track near Udvada railway station on Nov 14 at around 2.30 pm. She was on the phone when the accused smothered her to silence her cries, dragged her to a mango orchard, and assaulted her.

The accused has also confessed to involvement in four other murders aboard trains, including incidents in Mangalore, Howrah, Secunderabad, and on a train route between Pune and Kanyakumari. These murders had remained undetected until the Valsad police apprehended him.
