In the show titled 'Naya Bharat', uploaded on YouTube on Sunday, Kamra extensively discussed contemporary politics and took a dig at Shinde for splitting the party and aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party and terming him a "traitor".
In an apparent jibe, he sang a spoof song of 'Dil To Pagal Hai', referring to "a leader from Thane," making remarks about Shinde's physical appearance and his equation with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. However, he did not specifically name Shinde.
On this issue, PTI reported that Kanal said, "It is not about taking any law in your hands. It is purely about your self-respect. When it comes to elders or respectable citizens of the country, when your elders are targeted, you will target someone of that mentality."
“Abhi tak toh ye trailer hai, picture abhi baki hai. Whenever you are in Mumbai, you will get a good lesson in Shiv Sena style," Kanal had warned Kamra.
What Maharashtra CM Said?
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday reacted to the controversy over Kamra's remark on Eknath Shinde.
Fadnavis said the comedian should apologise for his behaviour adding that action will be taken against him as per law.
“Everyone has a right to perform stand-up comedy. But freedom should not be unrestrained behaviour. Kamra should apologize for his behaviour. The insult of leaders cannot be tolerated. Action will be taken against him as per the law," said the CM.
